ABOUT US

Founded in 2018 and currently located in Royersford-Collegeville area, Sonali Dance Group is all about Dance and Entertainment to learn Bollywood, Folk and Fusion style dances with all its elegance, beauty and sensuality. Our dance sessions are designed for each and everyone (kids and ladies) to learn dancing while having fun. Our students have performed at multiple prestigious events in the New Jersey and Philadelphia area including Mainline Indian Association, Cultural Indian Council, Indian Asian American Heritage Festival, and many local cultural events.

Dancing is my strength and it has been my passion since childhood. I’m a self trained Bollywood dancer and a trained semi-classical dancer. Even after completing my education in Engineering, I was always interested and inclined towards arts - especially dancing and acting, and hence decided to make it my profession.

Over the years I have performed at many prestigious events in India and USA and have choreographed dance performances for kids and adults - many of which have won numerous recognition and acknowledgements.

Beside dancing, I have worked in professional Dramas, many Marathi and Hindi TV serials, and acted in few Marathi Movies. I had privilege working with stars like Reema Lagu, Nishigandha Vad, Mohan Joshi, Dr Girish Oak, Vandana Gupte, Ramesh Bhatkar, Vijay Chavhan, Satish Polekar, Rupali Bhosle, Rahul Bodas to name a few.

ABOUT ME

  • I participated in the BOOGIE-WOOGIE Dance Reality Show featured on Sony TV, India.

  • I have worked in a short film Ho Maalak made in USA and won Best Female performance 2nd prize at the Vishwa Ekankika competition organized by the Rotary Club [2021]

  • I have worked in 3 Marathi movies Laal Chuda, Ticha Chukla Tari Kay? and Dhava-Dhav 

  • I have worked in Marathi drama Amhi Aajan Pakhare which was telecasted on Doordarshan (DD1) [2003]

  • I have worked in Marathi TV serial Anolkhi Disha on Star Pravaha Marathi

  • I have worked in Hindi TV serial Kalpana on DD1

  • I had a privilege of performing at the national level Drama Festival at National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi [2012]

  • I won Lokmat Yuva Manch Dance Competition for Vidharbha Region [2004]

  • I was winner at the prestigeous P L Deshapande Drama Competetion [2004]

  • I won Best Actress (kids category) at the Maharashtra State Youth Drama Competition [2003]

  • I was the 1st Runner up at the prestigious Face of the Year Beauty Pageant [2011]

  • I won the Best Beautiful Smile award at the Maharashtra Princess Beauty contest [2009]

  • I won the Best Cat Walk award at the TVS Scooty Beauty contest [2012]

Bindu Vajjala

A few weeks ago, my 10-year-old daughter took dance classes from Sonali to prepare for a cultural event and she'll keep taking dance classes if there are any new events.. She had also taken classes in the past but had to take a break due to the impact of COVID-19. I must say that Sonali is an absolutely fascinating teacher who gives her best and brings out the best in her students, helping them improve in a short period of time.
